About Us

Welcome to
Jack's Tap room
and Quarterback Bar and Grill

Owner, Jack Stanley has three constants in his life – family, football and providing great hospitality.

It all goes back to his roots in NE Portland, where you'd find Jack running drills and making touchdowns as quarterback for the Reynolds High School football team. All that hard work paid off, and Jack earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Nevada. Following college, Jack played professionally for the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins, now known at the Washington Commanders. The highlight of his career came in 1987 with a Washington Redskin’s trip to the Super Bowl where they defeated the Denver Broncos, 42-10, in Super Bowl XXII to earn the team's second Super Bowl, and Jack a Super Bowl Ring.

Jack's wife, Jacki "Scooby" Stanley was a professional cheerleader for the Los Angeles and Oakland Raiders for ten years.

Jack learned the restaurant business from his Mom & Dad, Mitch and Cee Cee Stanley. The Stanley's owned and operated the Refectory Restaurant for 33 years. The Refectory was a successful fine dining restaurant and nightclub on NE 122nd & Halsey.

In November of 1994, using his football career earnings, Jack opened up a bar of his own, called Cactus Jack's. He operated Cactus Jacks from 1994 - 2017, when he changed the name to Jack's Taproom and Quarterback Bar and Grill. The concept change was to focus on an American food menu and bring more fun to the bar with music and games.

Jack's Taproom is open and ready for your business!

We hope you enjoy your time here!
